The Department of Education (DepEd) Task Force for COVID-19 issued the memorandum No. 45, S. 2020. The memorandum is about the DepEd Online Learning Activities for Elementary and Secondary Learners.

INVITATION TO ON-LINE LEARNING ACTIVITIES ON THE PROMOTION OF CHILD PROTECTION AMIDST COVID-19 FOR ELEMENTARY AND SECONDARY LEARNERS

As part of its initiative in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Deparment of Education (DepEd) through the Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Service (DRRMS), in collaboration with the Office of the Undersecretary for Legal Affairs (OULA) and Youth Formation Division (BLSS-YFD), will be conducting online learning activities for elementary and secondary learners. The activities aim to advocate and ensure that children have equal opportunities on protection, health and nutrition, education, child participation and well-being amid COVID-19 pandemic.

The online story telling session for elementary learners entitiled “Online Kwentuhan: DRRMSbooklatan” showcases stories in which children can relate with regard to their rights, risks of abuse, and what they can do to protect themselves while they are staying at home due to the Community Quarantine. Meanwhile, the “OKKK! Tambayan (Online Kahusayan para sa Karapatan ng Kabataan Tambayan!” offers online arts-based activities for secondary learners primarily to (a) empower learners on their roles and contributions to government’s response to COVID-19 pandemic; (b) engage learners on the different current issues affecting them and to come-up with solutions; and (c) develop a resilient youth that shall overcome current and future crises.

On-line Arts Based Activities for Secondary Learners “OKKK! Tambayan (Online Kahusayan para sa Karapatan ng Kabataan Tambayan)”May-August 2020

1st session (Pilot episode):
21 May 2020; 4-5:30 PM

Succeeding sessions:
Every Thursdays 4-5:30 PM
– School SSG President
– SSG Teacher-Advisers
– SPED Learners
– All Junior and Senior High School Learners (Public and Private)
– Parents/Guardians

Note:
The learners are encouraged to invite a classmate or friend as “Quaran-Friend” to join the webinar.

The said online activities will be conducted via Zoom and FB live simultaneously.

To participate in the FB live, all participants can access the official DepEd Facebook account https://www.facebook.com/DepartmentOfEducation.PH. The Teacher-Adviser shall be the one to assist the participation of their learners especially the school SPG/SSG President and SPED learners.

The Division DRRM and YFD Coordinators shall identify the School SPG/SSG President or SPED Learner Division Representative who will participate in the Zoom/Google Hangouts meeting. Zoom/Google meet ID will be provided to the Division Representative through their Division DRRM and Coordinators a day before the online session.
