
DepEd School Calendar and Activities SY 2023-2024 – The Department of Education (DepEd) issues DepEd Order No. 22, s. 2023 or the “Implementing Guidelines on the School Calendar and Activities for the School Year (SY) 2023- 2024” to enable schools and community learning centers (CLCS) to implement school activities and maximize instructional time in cognizance of the goals and objectives of the DepEd MATATAG Agenda effectively and efficiently.
Pursuant to Republic Act (RA) No. 11480, otherwise known as An Act to Lengthen the School Calendar from Two Hundred (200) Days to Not More Than Two Hundred Twenty (220) Class Days, the SY 2023-2024 shall formally open on Tuesday, August 29, 2023, and end on Friday, June 14, 2024.
DepEd School Calendar and Activities SY 2023-2024
The school year 2023-2024 is divided into four quarters with a semestral break placed after the second quarter. Refer to the table below:
First Quarter | August 29 – October 30, 2023 |
Second Quarter | October 31, 2023 – January 23, 2024 |
Semestral Break | January 24-26 and 29-30, 2024 |
Third Quarter | January 31, 2024 – April 4, 2024 |
Fourth Quarter | April 5, 2024- June 10, 2024 |
Prior to the start of classes, the nationwide Brigada Eskwela, or the National Schools Maintenance Week, will be conducted from August 14-19, 2023. This initiative encourages teachers, parents, students, community members, and other education stakeholders to volunteer their time and resources to prepare the school facilities for the incoming school year.

The Christmas break will be from December 18, 2023, to January 2, 2024.
