2025 Brigada Eskwela Theme
“Brigada Eskwela: Sama-sama Para sa Bayang Bumabasa”
The 2025 theme promotes literacy-focused volunteerism and emphasizes the importance of community support in helping learners become confident readers. It expands Brigada Eskwela’s scope to include the enhancement of reading environments, facilities, and student wellness.
Summary of Brigada Eskwela 2025 Guidelines
1. Facilities Assessment and Literacy Readiness
Before this activity, schools must evaluate their physical condition and reading support areas like libraries, reading nooks, and shelves. They are also encouraged to assess learners’ reading readiness for targeted interventions.
2. Strict No Solicitation Policy
All forms of solicitation from parents, guardians, or stakeholders are strictly prohibited. This activity is based on voluntary contributions only.
3. Ethical Partnerships
Schools are reminded not to accept support from industries that conflict with DepEd values (e.g., tobacco, breast milk substitutes, alcohol). This maintains a healthy, safe learning environment.
4. Formation of Working Committees
Schools must form a working committee led by the school head, teachers, PTA officers, and optionally parents, learners, and community members. Their tasks include:
- Conducting awareness campaigns
- Mobilizing resources (books, kits, volunteers)
- Securing MOAs/MOUs with partners
- Ensuring no compulsory participation or incentive-based parent involvement
